Reservoir after res-pump combo

So guys, I have an idea which i think might be a bad idea.

 

So I currently have a custom loop consisting of a 420 rad, a 280 rad, a dual DDC 3.2 bay res-pump combo cooling dual 980 TIs and a 7700K, jammed inside a Corsair Obsidian 750D. So this I want to upgrade by adding a 240 rad, maybe a 140 rad and, this is the bad idea, a 250 reservoir. Now this reservoir would be placed either directly after the pump or with the 280 rad between the two. I know it is recommended to always have the res before the pump, but that would make no sense in my loop.

 

So I figured that since I already have a res before the pump(s), I won't have the issue of not feeding the pump water, but could there be any other problems? Overflow in one of reservoirs or drop in pressure in the loop? Any of guys have any ideas?

Wouldn't really matter as the pumps have a res. Just get the additional res full, would be the same as adding another block at this point.

Right? That's what I thought and hoped for. I've also considered using a D5 pump on the res, but not sure how the different pumps will react to that.

Don't see why you need so many pumps. One is enough. I wouldn't add, another but that's me.

I'm a bit worried about the loop losing pressure after the second res. But I don't know if the EK pumps suck or push. If they push almost all the pressure will be lost if the second res isn't full but if they suck it won't be a problem. I think.

if will be the same as a rad, youll just have to get the air out. Arent enough components to lose anything.  The d5 pump ek uses are the same as any pump. They do push and pull, technically.

By the way, is there any downside to adding a res without fans? I want this for the looks.

You mean a rad without fans? Adding another res just makes the water take longer to equalize. Aside from that, no real losses or benefits. 

 

Adding a rad with no fans isn't bad, wont do much unless theres decent airflow in the case. Technically it would still radiate heat so it will still add some heat transfer.
