led fans wont stay lit

Scooby622

im trying to set up the fan curves on my new computer and i bought blue led fans. problem is that when i try to turn it down, leds dim and if its at 0% they dont light up which i guess makes sense. i was wondering if there was a way to make it so that they stay lit without spinning. fans are the corsair af140

No.

Well, yes if you turn them on and stick your finger in.

You have 3 pin fans which change speed by varying the voltage.

The same voltage that powers the LEDs.

4 pin fans, PWM, won't have this problem.

Just out of curiosity, is there a particular reason you don't want the fans to run?  After all, they are fans, they are supposed to run.  That's how you keep things cool inside your pc case.

im setting up my fan curve to start out at 0 so it is only loud when it needs to be. ive spoken to several people and most people start out their fan curves at 0 because under light load the cpu fan can more than handle the heat

Just buy some LED strips or better yet get rid of the LEDs and pretend you have some taste. ???

As long as they are using single power connector for both fan and LEDs, that's what you get.

Yes. PWM fans receive full 12V power all the time and controlling is done with 4th pin.
