PC occasionally freezes and continues

SektorGT

Just did a fresh Windows 10 install. I'm running 4.4 Ghz ovc on my CPU and some minor ovc on my GPU (+50 core, +500 memory). For the past 3 years, I've never had a problem with anything but last week it all started.. My freshly installed windows is occasionally freezing when viewing photos or editing them in Photoshop + when I play GTA 5 (Grand Theft Auto) where I also get an error upon crash saying "ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT".

The things I've tried:

- All drivers update

- Restoring defaults in BIOS

Upon every fresh windows install I also do "power optimization" following the guide from this link:

Guys... am I doing something wrong? What is happening with my PC?

My PC has been working the same and has been stable under numerous stress tests for the past 3 years.. how come it would start to behave today? :)

Hm Hardware degrades over time, maybe your voltage isn’t enough for your cpu anymore. Just try it without overcklock, you can always go back if the problem persists :)

Could be something as simple as the paste on your GPU (or CPU but with that error I'd suspect GPU first) has started to dry out and not perform as well as it used to.

Found out it was the GPU. There's a major problem with the latest driver but when I rolled back (clean installed the old one) it does the exact same thing.. not sure anymore..

Silicon degenerates.

That it worked for 3 years does not mean that it has to work right now.
