So I have an I5 3570k and an H100i. My 3570k is running at 57 degrees @ 4.2 ghz qithout voltage being messed with while running prime 95 small fft. I have a few questions.  Could I overvolt it? SHOULD I overvolt it? How would I overvold it? And does it already overvolt itself?

Do you have the voltage set to "Auto" in the BIOS? You shouldn't. Usually it'll overvolt it way beyond what is necessary.

 

There is no gain for overvolting besides stability at higher clock speeds.

Waaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiit, so if you could have it at 5V (for the sake of the statement) and had sufficient cooling, you could overclock it really high and have it at 5V so it's stable? O.o

No, it would probably instantaneously die or burst into flames.

Typically around 2~maybe 2.5 (im guessing) is absolute voltage limit.

Pushing voltages to high will harm the hardware with electromigration.

 

Also, people have noticed a degradation in performance when running a CPU with an unnecessary level of voltage, specifically with AMD CPUs (as that's what I research the most).

Even if you could cool it to 50C?

so what do you suppose liquid nitrogen over clockers use volts wise? Well I can tell you It's far from 5v.

One usually adds more voltage in order to achieve even higher clock speeds. If you are happy with your current overclock of 4.2GHz overvolting is completely unnecessary. However since you have the H100i you can easily aim for something more in the lines of 4.4-4.6GHz (if your CPU is capable of these clocks, of course). 

In you current overclock, how did you OC the CPU exactly? Did you touch the V-Core voltage at all? Auto V-Core voltage doesn't mean default and is not constant. It means that the motherboard will decide how much volts to provide for the CPU and while this might sound good it is not, because some motherboards pump too much power towards the processor, which might cause excessive heat, high temps and even in some extreme cases the death of a chip. To change the voltage in the BIOS there is usually an option called: Core Voltage, CPU Voltage, V-Core or something in those lines. You can adjust it by slowly adding or removing 0.01V. but do not to go over 1.45-1.5V or you might start to experience rapid CPU degradation. In addition to that temperatures should not exceed 80-85C while stress testing.

To stress test your processor do not use Prime95, because it can potentially harm your processor. Instead you can use Aida64 or Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.

Why would you want to overvolt it, that creates more heat but to answer you questions, yes you can overvolt it in the BIOS or using any of the numerous overclocking utilities. I would not overvolt it as it would create more heat. You could overvolt it manually via the vcore setting in the BIOS or moving the sliders in the numerous overclocking utilities available. If you used a overclocking utility to do your overclocking then it was overvolted for you already.
