Hp wx8600 a good ftps, plex server?

I downloaded linux server on to this system.

2x xeon e5430

16gb ecc ram

biggest reason 15x sata ports mostly sata 2 but not worried on raidz. 

Plex seems to be struggling and dont know why. Cpu and ram usage are barely moving.

What do you mean by struggling? Does it take a long time to load anything? Is it not moving files as fast as you think it should? Is it taking a long time to load video your streaming on your home network? Are you using an older 100mb switch or router?

 

 

Sata 2 Shouldn't matter as long as its not running SSDs or modern 10k/15k rpm drives. (Note shouldn't. It can change depending on different variables)

What Ethernet speed are you using on your network? 10,100,or 1GB?

Can we have a screen shot/pic of both your cpu/ram usage, gpu usage if you have one, and drive usage when it's running. 

What Linux Server?

What is the server's boot drive? HDD, SSD or USB?

its was a bad plex setting fixed. 

But to answer questions

Lan is full duplex gigabit to all machines, running through a 48port netgear prosafe switch with a pfsense router on a i5 hp computer.

Ubuntu 16.01lts server distro

 

The video was droppong frames like crazy and shuddering.
