It's almost sounding like hardware failure. How many DIMMs are in the mobo?

4 ram slots but 2 used

Maybe try booting with just one RAM card in, maybe try them both, put them in different slots etc.

i took the second stick out and its loaded on to my desktop!!

how do i check f it was dodgy ram or ram slot?

A2 and B2, however i replace the one i left in with the one i took out and it didn't post so i can safely assume it is the ram?

Try running memtest86 (it uses a bootable USB) with both the RAM sticks installed. Refer to your motherboard's manual to find the correct order. If memtest86 even comes up with even just 1 error, one or both of the sticks are bad.

Yeah try memtest again, your manual will tell you where to place your sticks for your configuration.
