Well... those are top three CPUs on LGA 2011 platform (Extreme Editions at that), so don't be surprized at their selling prices (even used ones).

However, I don't see any point in switching 3930k to 3960x/3970x.
You gain only few % in cache limited programs and that's it.

?
Why you can't set 4GHz on 3930k ?
I had 4,65GHz set on my i7 3820 just a few days ago ;)
Go to BIOS, set max. Turbo multiplier to "40" on all cores and it should work @4GHz (boosting when needed).
I doubt you even would need to change Vcore at this speed too.

I played around and overclocking failed

Using XMP profile for memory
BLCK: 100%
CPU Strap: untouched at Auto
Turbo Ratio: By All Cores at 46 as multipler
CPU VCORE Voltage: +Offset at 0.05V
CPU VCCSA Voltage: Manual at 1.100
DRAM Voltage (CHA,CHB,CHC,CHD): 1.50V
CPU PPL Voltage: Auto
VTTCPU Voltage: 1.100

DIGI+ Power Control:
CPU LLC: Medium
CPU CC: 110%
VCCSA LLC: Regular
VCCSA CC: 110%
CPU Power Phase Control: Optimized
DRAM-AB,CD Current Capability: 110%
DRAM-AB,CD Phase Control: Optimized
Intel Adaptive Thermal Monitor: Disabled
Anti Surge Support: Disabled

@agent_x007  Never mind, I had turbo multiplier to set to 45 then it failed. So then down to 40 and works

4,5GHz I think would require something like 1,3-1,35V on 3930k (you must check from what value you get offset from).

With my 4960X I have 1,29V VID and for 4,5GHz I can set - "20" offset in BIOS and it still works stable.

PS. You can set BCLK to 100.1 (to always be above 100, if you want).

After playing around with the settings Overclocking went all good. However my system goes fully off and getting an CPU temperature error.

With it now on, core 1 is like max value 43c out max to 59c

If you're getting temp errors for the CPU, you need better cooling, or to lower voltage at least a notch or two.

Yeah, that's not enough to cool a 130W CPU with overclock. You'll need a V8/NH-D14 or an AIO.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

I would check if MB doesn't increse CPU Voltage too agreesively on Auto (don't use "Offset" option, do "Manual" first to set actual value and see if it's stable on that).

Temps shouldn't go WAY up just because of few hundred MHz OC on stock Vcore.

just sell every thing and get something new? Ice Lake is coming next year, 8 cores / 16 threads on the last ipc and finally 24 pci-e lanes on the mainstream highest end.
