I can't decide what to upgrade next, I currently have a gtx 1070, i5 4690k @4.4Ghz and 8gb DDR3 1600mhz along with a 500w psu. I game in 4K.     My options are these:

1. I sell my cpu mobo ram and case, and buy a ( Amazon.com: Thermaltake View 71 4-Sided Tempered Glass Vertical GPU Modular SPCC E-ATX Gaming Full Tower Computer Case with 2 Blue LED Riing Fan Pre-installed CA-1I7-00F1WN-00: Computers & Accessories ) TT view 31 RGB case, i5 8600k, a z370 mobo, 16GB of vengeance RGB DDR4 and a kraken x62.

2. I sell my 1070 and buy a Palit 1080ti (which is all I can afford).

I can't afford both right now. I don't know if a palit GPU will be any good, but since I game at a high resolution i figure I will get a bigger performance boost from a gpu upgrade. On the other hand Aesthetics are very important to me and I've been looking at the kraken x62 and thermaltake case for a long time. Which option do you think is going to benefit me more?

GTX1080ti, I5-4690k, ASUS Z97 PRO-GAMER, 8GB DDR3 1600mhz, Hyper 212 EVO, Tt view 31 RGB.

1080 ti will benefit you more for now BUT

if you are gonna go with #1, go with a 8700 instead of a 8600k you'll end up with a 8700+ 2080 ti (???) by this time next year, you do wanna sell ur 1070 b4 the new cards get announced.

8700+ the next ti will most likely be 4k/120hz ready.

Yeah im gonna get the 1080 ti. I dont really see any benefit to the 8700k over the 8600k though, since I mainly game, and they are both 6 core the other one just has hyperthreading and costs 100€ more.

i would recommend

Sell 1070 Buy 1080ti

and/or

later on down the road Sell 4690k Buy 4790k

you dont need to jump to the newer DDR4 platform especially with how expensive RAM prices are now

Yeah im gonna get the 1080 ti.

Thanks everyone!

4k = 1080 Ti without a doubt, the CPU will still matter a bit but no where near enough to justify an upgrade.

Besides with a 1080 Ti you'll have so much power you won't even need to worry yourself, even if the 4c/4t only CPU ain't ideal... just close side applications when you go game and you'll never feel a slow down.

And remember ultra settings aren't every thing specially at 4k!:
