I do like apple and have had their phones for quite a while now, so this might be a little biased.

BUT. I think that the key difference between the two is that I think of Apple as more of a social phone. The social media apps are more buffed out, iMessage, FaceTime, its a very nice and straight forward phone

Now thats not to say that android doesn't have its own version of all of those things, and you no doubt get a much more customizable interface, but I just don't think that, if you are a social media/social person that it holds a candle to apple in those aspects.

I would recommend that you sit down and make a pros and cons. How important is customized interfaces to you, how important is having iMessage and other things.

My friends and I always joke around that 'No blue texts no conversation' referring to iMessage.

and please before I get hell for what I have just said, I said I was biased when it comes to phones.

(edited for more information) the headphone port really isn't as big of a deal as most make it seem, so if that is the deciding factor between a phone, just get it, you won't miss it much

I will probably only use snapchat and a messaging app so i dont really need those features.

I don't agree with this, no 3.5mm port

The only other factor other than the port is how slow they become after the battery wears out after a year. Im aware that this happens on every phone but its much more significant on the iphone.

Apple actually is currently being sued for slowing down phones, so I think that should all get Reverted soon. I really can't speak on android, but my 6+ never had an issue lasting me though the day, even with heavy ussage

yeah that is kinda true (battery wear out), my father's iPhone 5s battery usage is being degraded in 2-3years usage

but this iPhone 6s+ shouldn't give you that issue as fAST As older iPhones

Just get one of those external battery cases.

Im not talking about how long it lasts. It was recently discovered that the way apples phones are always the fastest is that they push the battery very hard. And after a while the battery becomes less efficent so apple slows down the other hardware like the cpu.

Just to clarify they push their iphones very hard knowing that they will degrade quicker and become slower kater one, but they dont care because nobody does tests on an iphone a year after release.

I haven't heard about that, so im not sure. You seem to want to get android, so I would recommend it! Nearly any phone that you get around that price point should do you wonders, and be a very nice step up from where you are currently

Budget of around $600 and you want a headphone jack? OnePlus 5T done, and done again. Has headphone jack and is best price for performance phone on the market.
