Hey guys!

I noticed my 3930k was pretty hot in idle (44-50C) and I changed the thermal compound to MX4 from CM Essential E2. Now it's around 40-45.

During load I used to get around 80C before and now 70C (on the hottest cores).

I have two NF-P14 fans on the H110, 4 140s and one 200 in a CM Storm Stryker and no OC on the CPU. Fans run at max rpm under load and low rpm when idle. Temp in the room is around 24C.

I feel like the load temps are okayish but doesn't it idle too high ?

seems normal to me. I wouldn' worry about idle temperatures in any case, perhaps your bios is pushing more voltage than necessary during low load. but 40s is not a problem.

It's true that when idling the CPU never goes below 3GHz, but it used to be cooler and wondered if whether the H110 is dying or not.

Do you have anything like Corsair Link measuring the pump speed? Does any of the lines leading to / from the pump feel hot to the touch? Does the actual pump feel hot or warm to the touch?

The pump is powered directly from the PSU. When turned on I can feel it vibrating a tiny bit, the pump is warm and the tubes are warmish.

What's your CPU voltage at? This is honestly pretty toasty for just 3.8GHz on one of these. I ran a 4930K @ 4.3GHz on an air cooler and it never went over 65C.

Full load temps seem to have gone a bit lower, but idle temps are still high. Voltages seem fine too.
