Do I Need to Feel Ashamed Because I Use Mainly Vegas Instead of Adobe Premiere?

Go to solution Solved by PlayStation 2,

No. Truth be told, the video editor's power, much like a photo editor's power, is all in the hands of who uses it, and if Vegas is sufficient for your needs, why switch?

I'm 17 and my passion is mutimedias

I mainly use Sony Vegas 13 for video editing purposes, but I see a lot of people editing in Adobe Premier Pro and other professional editing softwares

I tried to learn Adobe Premiere once and got fairly disapointed of the program. So now I'm just feeling ashamed because I use Sony Vegas as a amateur/professional editing software (Ex; Freelancing projects, youtube content and more...)

Sony Vegas, imo, is a very nice program. As a very user friendly interface, etc. but one of the things that I dislike are the long, long rendering times. If you use anything besides the preferred rendering option, it takes ages. Overall, Vegas is not so well optimized for GPU rendering, rather CPU.

No. The program does not make the editor; the editor makes the program. It's like putting grandma in the Indy 500 when she can barely reverse out of the driveway.

Vegas is likely better for most people because it's cheaper in the long run

was only $100 for Pro 15 during the winter sale this year on steam.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

People with nvidia GPUs have reported better render times with the latest version as it works with CUDA now on the optimized codecs.

Wait, is Vegas Pro 15 better than 14, performance wise....?

"

Hardware acceleration improvements

Improved real-time preview performance and render times with:

  • Intel Quick Sync Video (QSV) support
  • Modern graphics card support

"

Think it was on a steam review where someone mentioned better render times, too hard to find concrete stuff
