Problems with GTX 970 - possible replacement?

Hey guys,

 

my Gigabyte G1 Gaming 970 has some issues with its display ports and gigabrick support doesn't seem to respond ... issue is that sometimes the system fully boots but the screen stays black and i tracked it back to the display ports of the gpu - hdmis, dvis work. Long story short, two options: stick with the 970 (maybe gigabytes support is kind enough to respond some day) or obviously replace it at some point. GPU prices seem to kind have normalised - what would be a worthy replacement? no intends of overclocking really, doesnt matter on pascal as much anyway cause gpu boost, but quiet operation and 4GB RAM is minimum. Low power consumptions is favored too, I'm still gaming on 1080p 60Hz and no current intends to upgrade to 1440p. I don't need a lot of power, and I'm wondering: 1050ti - would it be a downgrade? or what would you recommend? Location is germany, budget... don't want to spend too much over the sale price of the 970 which could be around 160€ probably. so stretched maximum is probably 300€ but the cheaper the better.

Did you try reseating the GPU? Also it could be your displayport cable so try a new one. I say that because I have had dead cables before because I use cheap ones. I have that same GPU in my HTPC and it works fine for me.

@19_blackie_73 You would have to get at least a 1060 3gb to have the same preformance. I have a 1070 in my rig and it is comparable to a 980.

Here is the link to 3dmark results and set it to advanced search and just use a 7700k for the CPU since its a widely available CPU and it is one of the best ones for gaming right now (yes I know there is a 8700k out, but not many people have them yet) and then change the GPUs around and add it to compare. yeah, already did that
driver many times new installed, updated and even windows fresh install
hooking up other devices via displayport on the monitor

and what not... with hdmi it works, vga with dvi to vga is kinda blurry has vertical lines running down the screen, gives me headaches will typing this...

hoping that gigabyte manages to answer in a shorter period than 1 year...
1060 3GB is no contender for me as I sometimes manage to max out the 3,5 GB on the 970 with computing stuff, so at least 4GB is my minimum... so 1050ti or 1060 6GB basically. Dunno what I should think of the RX570 becauese kinda as expensive as the 1060 6GB and less performance, 580 is >300€

1050ti would be a downgrade, 1060 3gb would be 10% faster for 200dollars, just stick with the 970 imo

A 1050 Ti would  be a downgrade, and you should be able to find a used 970 for the same price (roughly) as a new 1050 Ti.
