After watching the WAN show and listening to Linus talk about the demise of NCIX (RIP).

I gotta ask Linus and everyone here, have any of you ever shopped or worked (I worked @ Metrotown) at Compucentre?

It was an old Montreal based retail computer & software franchise, it got me started in my life in IT. I believe they were killed off by EB Games & Futureshop.

Oh the memories...

I remember buying Baldur's Gate 2 there around 2000-ish iirc. I think it was at Place Versailles but it's kinda far in my memories, I was around 12-13 at that time and just started getting into computing.

I would frequent the the Compucentre that was once in the St. Laurent Shopping Centre in Ottawa. They always had the occasional good deal on software and peripherals.

I purchased a rerelease discounted Fallout1/2 from there many years after its original release for $10. Fallout became one of my favourite games and series thanks to that purchase.

I worked at the one that was in the Montreal Eaton center (food court floor), that's back when I first arrived in Montreal, so around 2003 ... damn I'm old!
