Upgrade to 1440p 165hz or wait for 4k 120hz

Hi guys, I have been using 1920 for years now and I made the switch to 144hz back in 2015 however I sacrificed IPS for TN.

I want to make the switch back again to IPS and keep the high refresh rate so obviously the Asus PG279Q comes to mind without question.

Do you think its WORTH waiting for 4k 144hz? My friend also has that monitor above and he said its not much of a difference from 1080p but it depends on the person so I'm not sure here.
