Yellowish liquid/Do I have a leak?

Yairz

I was going to finish the cabling on my build and drained the loop so I could add primochill vue (I added distilled water to leak test, dont have a lot of primochill so I'd rather not waste it in case I had a leak).

After I drained the loop I found some yellowish liquid leftover in the gpu/cpu block, I opened the reservoir and smelled it to see if it had a weird odor but it had none whatsoever. I figured it was due to some dirt or perhaps some algae growing already since I had left the reservoirs open while running, and was hoping vue would kill it or dissolve it. While going through my cables, I noticed a little drop of water on the motherboard, and what looked like soaked in water, I looked underneath to see if there was anything resembling a puddle but I didnt see anything. I had paper towels all over where the fittings were and on parts where water would have dripped. When I removed the paper towels, not a single one was wet and/or damp. I built this rig in a room near the bathroom (if that counts for something) I also ran the loop for testing for nearly 3 days ( 4 hours each day) with the reservoirs open because I had to work and couldnt afford keeping watch all day.

Please help me out, I'd rather not dismantle it; but if its necessary, then I will. Thank you in advance.

It could be due to some parts being copper and some being nickel or silver. Basically any part not using the same metal could cause corrosion.

I read around in quite a few forums, that they generally get along nicely (copper & nickel). I dont have any aluminum on board except for the enermax neochanger pumps, but supposedly thats anodized.

Each loop has an alphacool full copper radiator, while the card blocks are nickel, im using xspc black nickel fittings

What liquid are you using?

I used distilled water for leak testing, using primochill vue  uv purple for gpu and uv blue for cpu

yea copper and nickel plated copper go together fine, its when you combine copper and aluminum where you get issues. Did you use a silver coil or some anti micro-organism liquid in your distilled water loop? maybe its just a small amount of algae build up? Sidenote, awesome cables, I think I have the same ones, if not the same brand then the same color scheme

No i did not, I thought it'd be fine if I were to just leave it for a bit while I tested, some people suggested that it may be oil from the o rings ( I also used olive oil to bend a few tubes)

I hope its that, and honestly dont mind it that much since the primochill vue is treated to combat organisms, I'm more worried about the stains on the back of the motherboard.

The cables are from cablemod for corsair rmx, I really  like the way they look, its a shame I couldnt find any cable combs to go along with them.

yea possibly could be that. Just thought I'd put that out there as even it it was just a couple days, stuff could've happened perhaps. But you're probably right, it could be that oil. I looked at the images of your mobo and man thats hard to tell, could be anything. =/ Hopefully someone can give better information to give you

Ah yea I thought so, I too got the cablemod cables but for an xfx pro psu

Could be, I'm not absolutely sure honestly, and thank you.
