_Solved- Windows Driver Verifier Slowed my computer

Okay I restarted the computer after removing the driver verifier and wow it works so much better. I don't know if the program just messed up the system that much because its bad or because i had the wrong settings in or something but it seems to run just as it used to! 

 

I was having issues with windows crashing and had their support help me. They had me do some stuff in the command prompt and updated the display drivers. Ever since they did this my computer has been terribly slow. I used to be able to play SWBF2 (don't judge me I like that game) with no lag issues at all and now it is almost unplayable. Sometime the mouse itself (just on the desktop) is lagging behind. 

 

I have tried rolling back the display drivers so I don't think that is the issue. The thing they wanted me to do in the cmd is this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/devtest/driver-verifier

 

Any help would be great.

 

(PS I am upgrading my CPU, mobo, and RAM tomorrow so hopefully that fixes the issue for some reason)

First, I'd try booting up Task Manager.  It'll tell you which programs are using the CPU, memory, disk, Internet, and GPU the most.

Even task manager crashes when i first start it, but after I let it load my CPU is already using 50% from watching twitch. It also goes up to 98% when playing SWBF2. I never looked at it before this issue, but I didn't think that messing with windows really increase my CPU usage that much?

 

I ended up going into the Driver Verifier and disabling it to see if that will work.

Restarting your computer will fix the vast majority of its issues.

I am not sure why they would have you run driver verifier as if you read the MS page for driver verifier, you would have seen that is should only be used for testing and debugging, they should have disabled or uninstalled it as soon as they fixed the issue you were having with windows crashing.

The following is a quote from the Microsoft website on the driver verifier.

Caution

• Running Driver Verifier could cause the computer to crash.
• You should only run Driver Verifier on computers you are using for testing and debugging.
• You must be in the Administrators group on the computer to use Driver Verifier.
• Driver verifier is not included in Windows 10 S. We recommend testing driver behavior in Windows 10 instead.
