Seasonic FOCUS Plus 550 Platinum

Hello.

I am intending to buy an Asrock B350 Pro4, a Ryzen 5 1600 and a gtx 1050ti

Is this psu good enough? Is it noisy? Thx a lot.

honestly with a build like that platinum is overkill. 80 plus gold would be sufficient and save you quite a bit too.

oh, ok according to this it's an excellent choice. Also for future reference always quote when responding to posts so that others get notifications that you have responded to them.

Honestly, if it saves you money then get a Corsair CX450/450M. You don't need a crazy high-end unit for a 1050 Ti system. You'd be able to get a better GPU if you went for a Ryzen 1400 too.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.

My system: PCPartPicker || For Corsair support tag @Corsair Josephor @Corsair Nick || My 5MT Legacy GT Wagon ||

Yes, but I would have less watt consumption, right? In 4 years period, wouldnt it be more efficient to buy the seasonic?

It doesn't matter enough for me to not recommend saving a ton of money and getting much better performance. A 1400 and 1060 would be a better buy than a 1600 and a 1050Ti.

Probably not. With a 200W load, 8 hours per day, every day, that would be a difference of 164 kWh. With an electricity price of $0,10 per kWh, that would equal $16. And that's assuming the 8 hours per day, and that you'll use the PC 100% all of that time.

You can get away with a cheaper PSU and use the saved money on better hardware (like a better GPU).

You don't need a platinum PSU, 80plus Gold is more than enough and the saved ~25€ you can use for something else. It's not better, just more efficient over the 'normal' Focus Plus.

Yeah, but we are talking about 2% or something like that.

The differences between gold and platinum is pretty small.

Not as it is between White and Bronze or Bronze and Gold.

And depending on where you live and so, it can be even smaller. Because 230VAC vs. 115VAC...
