500 dollar budget for a video card

I'm building a new pc in a few months and slowly putting a parts list together,I'm on the fence should i get a vega 56 maybe 64,Or get a gtx 1080.I know the vegas use more power and the freesync monitors are cheaper.Should i bite the bullet go gtx 1080 and spend a little more on a g sync monitor and use less power.

Bit the bullet and go for 1080 with G-sync its more powerful than VEGA 64 and i haven't use G-sync but people reported that its better than Free-sync.

The 1070 ti is only 50 dollars cheaper if that depending which one.I can get a 1080 founders at 509,And the cheapest 1070 ti founders is 449.

The 1070 ti is a total scam. The 1080 has been out for a year and a half with no price drop and nvidia now had competition from Vega. Instead of dropping the price on the 1080 to compete, nividia offered a neutered 1080 with cheaper low bandwidth memory, called it a 1070 ti and charged nearly the same price as the non gimped 1080.
