Dark Rock Pro 3 or Noctua NH-D15S?

wojwen

They are priced the same, but all reviews I could find compared Noctua NH-D15 to the Dark Rock Pro 3 and I'm interested in the Noctua NH-D15S with a single fan. How is the performance and noise?

The D15 was king of the hill because of the 2 fans, any particular reason why you only want 1? , I do know that Noctua will provide upgrade kits for future sockets and the warranty is twice as long. Be careful of ram height on the Dark Rock and I heard that they are difficult to install.

Forgive me El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education...

Neither. Get either the Scythe FUMA or the Thermalright Macho Rev.b

The FUMA outperforms it when seated properly.

The Macho performs he same with only one fan, it's also as silent as the Dark Rock Pro 3.

D15S is D15 with one fan and bit different design. There are reviews comparing the two. This one shows them being same within margin of error if 2 fans is used http://www.legitreviews.com/noctua-nh-d15s-versus-nh-d15-cpu-cooler-review_188613/3

It also shows imo quite well what 2nd fan actually does compared to 1. Which is not much. Here's another https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Noctua/NH-D15S/6.html
