Hey guys I need some help! I have no experience in building a budget cheap pc but I wanted to build one for emulating Wii and playstation 1 games. I would hook this up in my livingroom it does not have to be a powerfull system just something to play mario cart..  crash... ext. if any of you have suggestions I would like to stay under 300 if at all possible I have a wireless keyboard and mouse as well as hdmi cables to hook it to my tv. for dolfin which is the emulator I use it requires

  • 64-bit CPUs and Operating Systems are required.
  • Windows XP is no longer supported. Windows Vista is no longer officially supported.
  • Direct3D10/OpenGL3 Required. This means AMD Radeon 4xxx, NVIDIA GeForce 8xxx, or Intel HD 2xxx minimum! Anything older than that will most likely not work or will have significant glitches.

Just now, Kimmaz said:

for $300 you could buy a used ps1 with 10+ games and a wii with a few games depending on how many games you get with the system and how many you have to buy seperatly.

I understand that but I would like to browse the web sometimes as well as have one system for all those games and maybe games like castle crashers.

While the Ryzen would be more versatile, I would recommend a cpu with a higher clock speed. Single thread performance is very important to emulation, so something in the range of 4 GHz or faster would be suitable.
