Buy a Gaming Laptop or build a PC as a Streaming PC?

Looking into building/Buying a streaming PC. 

 

Not sure which is the smartest way to go. 

 

Gaming laptop with an i7 or build a pc with Ryzen/Threadripper?

Desktop all the way its a perfect time to pick up a ryzen for a good price. More bf deals coming this week. Try not to limit yourself by getting a laptop. Unless you are at university have limited space or always on the go i would skip the gaming laptop.

The laptop would be for both university and a streaming pc. 

 

Current laptop is showing its age but I think I can squeeze one more year out of it. 

 

My 5820k just can't handle x264 with either the fast or medium preset while playing Siege.

You can get a Ryzen 5 1600 plus a B350 mobo for $189 ($15 MIR) on Black Friday, from Frys in the US. Definitely build your own desktop, just about always.
