Vram?

Go to solution Solved by WereCat,

Any game that is capable of using 4GB of VRAM is hard enough to run where you will hit performance wall with 1050ti before you can use that much VRAM most of the time.

Just grab the GTX 1060 3GB/6GB or preferably RX470/480//570/580 4GB/8GB if you can.

RX 570 4GB is the correct answer.

Okay well it's not $199 anymore, but whatever

RX 580 4GB is the correct answer $250 though atm, no one should buy the 3GB 1060, sounds like you want more performance than a 1050ti

Think i will go with the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Mini ITX OC 3G. But note it says mini itx. Does this mean its only for mini itx motherboards?

Mini ITX GPUs are called like that because they are meant to be used in a small factor PCs, but you can still use for a normal build, but it's cooling is not gonna be the best, other than that it's good to use..

That doesn't make much sense on the AMD GPU front

CPU's bottleneck refresh rate

GPU's bottleneck resolution/quality settings.

But whatever you do, do not, buy a 3GB 1060, buy a 6GB 1060 at minimum. Or find any RX 570/580 they'll be a better value anyways, especially if you ever upgrade to a free-sync display, as it should always be a good deal cheaper than G-sync.

Then save money and buy a 1050ti? If that means you're going to sell your card in 10 months than a 6GB 1060 would sell better than a 3GB model.

The 3GB model is just too little VRAM for the money.

Better yet if you don't care about graphics buy a 1050 or RX 560.

I mean. Beanchmarks show around 5 fps more in games. I wont be selling it. Il give it to my brother. Also im 15 so all the money i earn in summer vacation will go towards my pc. Around 3000€. So im not thinking about saving for then. Also userbenchmark.com shows that 1060 is better than rx 570 in almost everything.

fps difference may not be much but you won't have the same quality, like you'll have to lower textures and those types of effects on the 3GB card

But really just save more and get a 1050 or RX 560, they'll do 1080p gaming just fine, or even buy a decent used GPU, especially if you aren't actually going to use the extra performance from a 1060 or 1050ti

Like the money can go to games or something if you don't care about getting 1080p high-ultra.

The 570 likely catches up with an overclock and on DX12/Vulkan games, and the pricing is different than the US

AMD GPUs are just fine.

The 580 performs just as well as a 1060 and sometimes better.

an RX 580 4GB or 8GB is what I recommend.

Really dont like to save. I have a budget of 700€ and i love high fps counts. I want to see 150+ fps in almost every game. But i get why you recommend this. Ty

Your CPU is way more important than your GPU For high refresh rate gaming, because your GPU can scale down all day, but you can't make your CPU magically faster, there's 8700K results for the fastest gaming CPU, try to find like 720p benchmarks with a 1080ti to see what each CPU's max fps in that game would be. This guy might have a lot like that

by the way, lowering resolution to 720p won't always work cos fps is tied to CPU and not GPU.

CPUs process frames that the GPU renders. So if the CPU is too slow it bottlenecks the GPU.

Taking things seriously doesn't mean you need to change graphics settings.

I know someone who bought a 1080Ti for CS:GO

Also would cx450m have enough power for a ryzen3 1200 + gtx 1060?

A CX450M would deliver enough power but it's just not a amazing unit. It's quite decidedly in the spectrum of mid range to lower end.

If you want better efficiency, quieter operating and features like all Japanese capacitors then you'll need to spend a little more money.
