Sub $1.2k laptop with dedicated graphics and tb3

I'm looking at getting a laptop for school, I would prefer it to have at least a 1050 4gb and an i7 QUAD CORE. The only other requirement would be a tb3 connector so I can hook up a more powerful gpu at home. Also a non-gamer aestethic would be preferrably, maybe thin and with a brushed aluminum lid.

Edit: You may want to look for laptop with 4c8t KB-R CPU
Edit 2: Acer Aspire V Nitro also not a bad choice

I was going to pick Dell XPS 15 and Lenovo Yoga 720 15 inch but then I realized that their TB connector only has 2 PCIe lanes instead of 4

IMO eGPUs are kinda dumb, for the same price you can just build a desktop PC and that way you always have a backup computer.

Wants to game on the go and have a better experience at home, for the similar power of a rig with a 1080 and a laptop with a 1050, you would think the price would be a bit more, you know, equivalent cpu and all.

I swear, whenever I write on this forum I sound like a downy. If he wants to play games on the go, and have a better experience at home, but he spends equal time out and in; it would cost more to have an equal rig at home with a gtx 1080 compared to using an e-gpu. I would just spend the money on a laptop with a 1080 tho.

What I said in my post is that it would cost almost the same to just build a desktop PC at home in addition to the laptop, instead of using an overpriced EGPU enclosure.

Yeah, what I really want to do is have a thin laptop for light gaming on the go, and have tb3 so I can use an eGPU for more intense gaming at home

anything that doesnt weigh 10 pounds is probably out of the price range too

unfortunately I don't know another laptop OEM that implements TB3 in a way that external GPUs make sense. Apple and Razor are your main options I think.

I already have a desktop, and don't like it. I'd rather pay a premium to be able to move around, hence why I will be selling my desktop for a laptop. My current desktop has an overclocked ryzen 1600 to 3.8 ghz, 1050 ti, and 16gb of ram.
