Are the coffee lake chips worth buying right now? AAA games is as far as i'm going to go, so I'm not sure if I need it. Yall think its a good chip for a light/ medium gamer like me?

Yah, they provide the best upgrade path and price to performance for the most part.

You could step down to the 8400 and then upgrade later if needed :)
