Depends what you want to store and how much space you have.

It depends what you want to do. Windows will work fine with just SSDs, but if you want to store a lot of videos, I'd recommend a hard drive.

Theoretically, you could store everything in the RAM(probably not doable) or on a flash drive without ever needing internal storage...

Well yes but that's not the point. SSD only is fine and the biggest advantage is the silence you get from using only solid state. I would recommend using a mass storage HDD and a smaller SSD just because it's so much cheaper. Your choice though, just remember that games don't really get any advantage from being on an SSD except slightly faster load times

Usually it goes like 1 SDD for boot and 1 HDD for storage, if your windows and main programs are installed on the SSD every thing will be snappy and fast, you can leave stuff like files, sound, videos, games and whatever else that won't benefit from the fast load times (at least after the game is already load), while small files like a movie opens at the same speed regardless the storage.
