I know many people will say its not worth upgrading my build and I should just save up for a new build but honestly if i sell my current CPU for $50 i can get an upgrade for $60 more. I dont want to build a new PC right now. I cant really drop $700 for a new CPU, Ram, and  Motherboard.  (I had this build for 3 years but it originally started out with 960 2GB and AMD FX-6300)

Currently I have an AMD FX-8320 and AMD RX 580 from my understanding people are saying its bottle necking even tho i only experience very minor fps drops on PUBG. I dont think its a major problem. I caped my fps at 60 and the lowest it will drop is 35.  However the FX series is dated and the 8320 (8020) wasnt the best choice. Do you guys think upgrading to the FX-9590 (10,190) would be worth it? Theres about about a 2000 difference in there benchmarks.  I'm just not familiar with this CPU. I always thought the 8350 was the highest.  Do you guys think it would be worth upgrading? I'm just trying to juice the life out of my machine. I love it.

The max my CPU usage goes is 60% on PUBG and thats with like 13 chrome tabs (lol), discord, MS word and occasionally torrenting legal stuff of course.

The 9590 is the worst CPU ever made, you can just throw that thing in the trash.

Save your money and upgrade when you have enough for something actually good.

na just save more money with time and get a ryzen 1600 with a good b350 board and you will be set for a long as time.

the 9590 can literally burn motherboards, its like 250w of pure overclocked madness, its a 8350 binned to be super fast, but super hungry as well

The 9590 is just an overpriced binned 8350 that's pre overclocked out of the box. Like cj said the thing destroys mothertboards and the performance jump from an 8320 to a 9590 is pretty small and not worth the money. Just save up for ryzen or coffee lake as we all know it sucks having to buy a new motherboard and processor but, that's just how it is and what you'll have to do.

if you already have an fx-8xxx chip you shouldn't upgrade on AM3 all the "higher" chips are actually identical to what you already have just overclocked. and you can do that on your own for free. it will also fix all your frame rate dipping issues. so really don't waste your money it's even likely to cause damage to your hardware

The FX9590 is the worse CPU ever released by AMD in price-to-performance standpoint, this is not an upgrade you're literally wasting money.

Keep the FX-8320. As going to the 9590 is kinda pointless. You'd have to spend the money on the CPU itself, and then you would probably have to get a better cooler and stuff as well. Possibly even a different motherboard, since the 9590 is really power hungry.

The only upgrade you should do is save up your money for a complete platform upgrade.

but you should probably upgrade to Ryzen or wait for Ryzen Revision 2 next year if you want something just solid for the money. Like an R5 1400

What voltage? If anything you'd want to worry about your VRM depending on your motherboard

check what it's running at in CPU-Z or something, you don't want to go past 1.4V or so I don't think

What motherboard? If your VRM is crap you probably want a fan over it when overclocking.

Plz no, do not overclock on that motherboard if you want it to live. It doesn't even have heatsinks on the VRM.

CPU-Z is software you install

Throw a fan over the VRM at minimum

My God do not get a 9590. Literally the worst CPU to come out while I've been involved in PC gaming. I'm sorry but you're at basically the end of your upgrade path for that system. You could save everything except the motherboard and go with something like the 4790k, thus saving you ram, but that platform shouldn't be invested in anymore.

Yeah, thats what i was thinking. I'm probably better off buying a new case and selling my PC for $600 with my GTX 960.

Your Mobo doesn't even support that CPU fx9590 I mean, and it's a fire hazard to boot even with your current CPU, so sell them and go for something else.

If I get any spare cash soon I'll sell my build with a GTX 960, different PSU and a $50 case.

And just OC that 1700. Of course you could go for the 1800X if you don't wanna deal with overclocking, but the Taichi is definitely a better pick then the MSI.

Yeah you're right there isn't a major difference between them and that would end up being cheaper. Overclocking it would probably just make equivalent to it.
