Bitcoin Mining For Cheap

Right, if this is in the wrong subsection, i apologize.

 

So, i wanna make money, i have £40 to spend, whatcha say? Mining a good idea? OR are there other things i should look into. Power bills are also not a problem. I have an old am2 motherboard and cpu lying around i can ues for some GPU mining if that is sensible.

40?  No.  Buy bitcoin with the 40 and then wait 3 months.  You'll have 80 (probably).  

Mining bitcoin is not done on a PC anymore.

You could set the money on fire.

It would give you just as much ROI as the mining gear you could buy for that price but would be much more entertaining.

Mining bitcoin has come to the point where it's not worth it on consumer hardware, you're better off investing in a cryptocurrency than actually trying to mine with 40 pounds

If you plan to actually mine look at other cryptocurrency though as an earlier poster said, your better off buying 40 euro worth of bitcoin then wait for the value to increase. Buying bitcoin is like buying a stock, the better the currency does the more your 40 euro increases in value.

try mining other alt coins or ideally become a trader not a miner would be my advice

You are literally 6 years too late to mine Bitcoins with a $1500 computer. You can't do anything with $40 and some old AM2 stuff, even completely ignoring the power bill.

I would say to be profitable between $4-6k USD and it would take about a year to be profitable.
