Sorry about this but GTX 1060 6GB or RX 580 8GB?

Noyu
Go to solution Solved by Noyu,

woah I didn't quite expect a heated debate on my pretty boring post.

anyways, after much deliberation, I've decided to go with the RX580. it seems most of you guys would prefer FreeSync over a 30$ savings.

I'm also leaning towards the XFX over the MSI. Now I just need to confirm that it will fit on either of my cases (SG13, and later, the ML08). It's really weird that I can't find this informaton on the specs page of xfx.

anyways that is all thanks everyone!!

Go with the advice from the guy that can spell advice.  I chose an RX480 over the 1060 before I upgraded.  And I didn't regret it.

I hate to say it but your comparison here is also not valid because you're the only one saying that you've had problems with all of your AMD cards.

Either you or the person you are talking to are lying, ATi/AMD haven't been making GPU's for 30 years.

Apparently both spellings are fine:  https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/advise

Or am I missing something?

It is not a comparison, but a question, and it refers to giving advise from hearsaying rather than from experience, so it is perfectly valid.

Give or take a few years --- the first ATI card I had was a mach32, and I had that at the beginning of the 90ies.  That card was released in 1992: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATI_Mach

Go with XFX. MSI's current design iteration is the exact same as the boring, overdone motif from last generation.

but tbh, aesthetically-speaking, I like MSI Armor more. hahahaha it's just that the XFX offers better performance (with a 3-year warranty) at exactly the same price. hahaha

I got unlucky, that doesn't mean you will.

That mentality is something @heimdalishould obtain, pun intended.

As I said, it wasn´t only my own computer.

Why should I obtain such a mentality?  What is better about getting unlucky by making experiments compared to buying from manufacturers I have made good expierences with and avoiding those who I have made bad experiences with?  That has worked well for me for the last 20 years.  What improvement can I expect that is worthwhile the experiments?

Advise is a verb, advice is a noun.

Both spellings are correct but you're not using advise in a grammatically correct way.  I only just noticed that you're from Germany, so I can absolutely forgive this.  Given English isn't your primary language, you're quite good.

Let me put it this way; when you advise someone on a topic, you are giving them advice.

For a non native english speaker, you are quite good.

Thanks, I keep learning.

It is sometimes confusing because there are different spellings of some words in GB and the US, and I thought advice/advise was such a case.
