Hi!

I recently watched Linus "What is Hyper Threading as fast as possible" on techquickie, and it got me wondering...

I want to buy the i5 4670K, but it has no hyperthreading..

Will it still be enough for gaming and some software in the background (skype, google chrome, spotify, steam and Razer GB and synapse mostly), and if not gaming also handle a little video editing?

Thanks for helping.

Sorry if I sound stupid (which I am) :P

Unless you're into post production or legit hardcore rendering (we're talking prosumer/pro levels of rendering), there is zero reason to go with an i7. Outside of that, the performance between an i5 and an i7 is nearly identical for gaming and typical computer use.

It really depends, if just gaming no hyperthreading will do just fine. but for renders  then u would need extram threads

i5 will be just enough. And if you later feel like its too little, get used i7 when new cpus arrive. My i7 only gets over 60% usage when rendering video.
