GTX 980 vs RX 480 both are 4gb

I've seen a GTX 980 4gb and a RX 580 4gb. Both are for $200 on Craiglist. I need help choosing which one i should get. Will be gaming on BF1, Fortnite, AC Origins, Overwatch

if your monitor has free sync then go for the rx if it has g sync go for the gtx

980 performs around 10% better than the 580

I believe the GTX 980 is generally marginally faster, but probably just get whatever's cheaper.

I recommend the RX 580 4GB if you can find it for $200.

I would get the 580 since they're similar in performance and it's newer

Actually, 200 dollar should be the normal NEW Price for a 4gb 980......

 

So no, i can not recommend that for that price, if it's used~.

I found my Friend a new RX 480 8gb Asus Strix in April (shortly before 500s were announced) for 199€ with taxes, as a "deal". When other 480 8gb models were about 230-250€.

That's a good price. New with full warranty.

 

But for a 4gb 580... and used? Nah.

 

Maybe keep looking for a used GTX 1060 6gb custom. Which is similar to a RX 580 8gb, and similar to a GTX 980 performance wise, but offers more Vram than GTX 980, with a much lower Power consumption.
