There's a 4Ghz club.. but I always thought the 5Ghz club was the special one..

Post a CPU-Z link with your forum name as the validation, simple. No stress tests, etc are required.

If you'd like, you could include the kind of cooling you are using, as I'm sure many would like to know if it's a particularly high clock speed.

I've put 1.62v through the same CPU, it let me reach 5.4Ghz. Never again, but it can do it, I've seen guys on LN2 reach 1.9v. Crazy stuff.

Just post a cpuid validation link with your forum name when you get or pass the 5ghz mark :) I'll put up a spreadsheet once they fix the editing of posts.

those are suicide scores.

don't do it on your personal rig which you want to keep using. it will destroy your cpu in weeks, and the ln2 stuff won't last longer then a day.

I did the 5.4Ghz 1.62v run about a week or two after I had the CPU, being a member of OCN and seeing everyone getting 5.2 and higher, I wanted more. Highest I've gone since was 5.1Ghz today, usually 4.8 or 4.7 for everyday under 1.45v.

LN2 is only for a few mins run, just scores, hwbot addicts, ykno.

those voltages are mad for intel.

you see it a lot more on the AMD side, but still. those voltages are to darn high :P

With some massive coooling like phase change or chillers,LN2,DICE its possiple to keep them cool, i did on my old rig a i7 920 5 flat with vcore 1.475 used phase change wich i borrowed from a friend.

  • 2 years later...

Necro FTW!

@ You probably won't get 5GHz from it, one or two modules will crap out. And don't waste all that money trying to OC an FX just buy a better CPU (i.e. Intel).
