Best 4-pin RGB LED strips?

cbc02009

Hi, I'm looking to add some LED strips to my case, but I'm having a hard time finding ones that conform to the 4-pin outputs on my MSI gaming 7 motherboard. If anyone could offer any recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated.

also, sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

This should be in peripherals I think, but anyways just get anything on this list, just scroll down until you find RGB strips and use any of those, and I know it is ASUS but it will work for you to.  https://www.asus.com/campaign/aura/us/Sync.html

If i were you and my budget was limited i'd get the DeepCool RGB350, it depends on how many LED strips you need. Getting anything basic is fine as theyre usually the same quality if theyre not by a shady chinese manufacturer...

If you had a bit more cash to spend getting the NZXT lighting kit is recommended.

Is msi's software that different from aura sync? I know I have full control of the LEDs on my GPU through msi, and it's full spectrum, not just selectable colors.

Aura sync requires a motherboard that has that built in. Since youre mb is rather outdated it doesnt support it.. The LED's on your graphics card are controlled by the graphics card itself. Your board needs the aura sync mark to work with anything that has aura sync.

"rather outdated"? z270 is less than a year old... And Mystic light is just MSI's version of aura sync. They're both basically the same thing.

Basically the same thing doenst always mean theyre officially supported....

It's still possible they function, but thats a risk you take on your own. MSI's website says the following LED strips are compatible though

DarkSide has built in connectors on there RGB lighting. They also make the best lighting for PC case lighting.
