Power adapter voltage drop(?) and weird noises

Not sure if this is the proper place to ask this. I have a 3 month old mini drill that I'm using for my project. Suddenly, the drill stopped working. I got it to work but it now makes a whinning or screeching noise. If I plug the supply and connect it to the drill, the noise disappears and th drill works fine. However, here is my another problem. The indicator LED on the power adapter is a little bit dimmer and the spin lf the drill is slower than what it used to be. Is this a voltage drop from the supply? What can I do to make it work like it normally was? Thank you.

ac adapter is dieing or the voltage supply circuitboard? just guessing
