Ryzen does a lot better with higher speed RAM, I'm pretty sure people recommend a minimum of 3000Mhz for a Ryzen build..?

it does to about the same amount as it does to intel chips, so if you want for example 140+fps in games, good ram will help, if you doing other stuff it will probably not help that much

It matters but it depends on the timings.

3200 at C18 will perform worse than 2933 at C14

As I understand it Ryzens cores use Infinity Fabric to communicate between themselves. Infinity Fabric runs at RAM speed, so yes. Higher RAM speed means better CPU performance.
