I'm in school right now and i need some help! Can someone explane to me Dafuq is Renaissance i don't understand anything.. I have tried different websites but no..

It began when port cities in italy traded a lot and became wealthy! That created a sort of merchant class that became like a middle class and kind of common. This had many more people be afford to be educated! So with a lot more people getting educated, new inventions and stuff happened! Its called rebirth because a common thing yo gain knowledge was to translate ancient texts from socrates, islamic worlds, greek philosophers, etc!

Post darkages, era of enlightenment, think Da Vinci, Mozart etc..

They were a group of people (mainly artists and philosophers) who examined the works of Plato and Aristotle (Socrates never wrote anything, but his ideas were often expressed by his pupil, Plato) and popularized a bunch of very "pre-christian" philosophies.

Also, this is debated but a lot of people think that the Renaissance started circa. 1450 as a result of the invention of the printing press. Funny enough, the first major piece of literature mass produced on the printing press was Martin Luther's 95 theses (His 95 suggestions for things the Catholic Church should change). This was important because it allowed for the transmission of information to the general public, all over Europe. It was kind of similar to the internet in that it accelerated the spread of information.
