How to wipe drive?

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

When you install windows you will get to a screen like this:

Image result for windows partitions install

Just delete everything there until "unallocated space" is left, then click next.

That's all you need to do.

What you want to do is format it.

If you don't have a spare computer handy, you can load This onto a flash drive and format it before windows boots.

Then you should be able to install windows just fine.

BUT I JUST REMEMBERED!

I think during the installation process you are asked anyhow if you want to format. So the first step I mentioned probably isn't necessary. Just get a bootable disk and away you go!

Use the windows media creation tool usb.  During the install process you will have the option to format the drive thereby getting rid of everything on it prior to installation of the operating system.

I always create a New partition and format it before NEXT.

Does WIN do that for you if you just hit NEXT?

It automatically creates all the partitions it needs, you should not have to create or format anything.

"unallocated space" is how a brand new drive comes from the factory.
