My dad seems to think his old Athlon 6000+ is better than the Sempron in my rig (Unlocked to an Athlon 445, and overclocked to 3.2GHz), when it really beats the living hell out of it. And that the P4 I use is worse than his Athlon (again, overclocked to 3.2 GHz), and IT beats the shit out of it.

Do you know anyone like this? If you do, feel free to post about it,

Forgive my ignorance, but are you saying the Sempron 145(single core?) > Athlon (64?) 6000+(dual core?) > P4 2.8ghz?

And your dad is saying that his Athlon 6000+ > than either of your CPUs?

My Sempron's other core has been unlocked, so it's essentially an Athlon II X2 445, and it's been OC'd to 3.2GHz.

My Pentium 4 is better than his Athlon, and is also clocked at 3.2GHz.

And I mis-spoke. It's actually an Athlon 64 4600+ that he has.

You want to die then or be homeless...

He'll just put an Athlon poster up in my room or rip up the P4 poster. I'm okay with the two things I mentioned though.

i guess your the friend? =P

search my comments regarding apple and you'll know that ain't the case :).  When I read comments like the one I quoted, the first thing I think is "I wonder what the other person was trying to achieve by speaking such drivel?" Not knowing the person I try to assume they are not all as dumb as dog shit and there is a goal behind the stupidity.

I feel your pain...my friends tell me that their xbox 360s would beat my pc anyday and the "next gen"(lol) consoles would blow my pc away.

I've stopped trying to reason with them, let them bask in their ignorance.

6000 / 445 = 13.5 .... it is 13.5 times BETTER !!!!!

Ya my uncle thinks Intel is the best when he has no clue about anything Amd...

He is 100% right though ;)

That makes more sense.

So you got lucky-ish getting a Sempron with a stable second core, good stuff.
