Question for people who know how to edit

So here is the situation. I love to game, and I am a great player, so I have some nice highlights of my gameplay and I want to edit them and make a nice montage of my gameplay. However, I don't have the money to fork out for Sony Vegas or Adobe Premier. Is there any cheap/free software that is easy to use and able to trim video, overlay music on it, and render out a video with no visual quality degradation, stutter, or FPS loss? And if so, is it possible you guys could point me in the right direction?

I've tried WMM, it honestly was just fine in terms of everything, but the frame rate seemed to drop and make it sort of choppy after I'd finish the video. Didn't like that, wanted it to be at least 60 fps

Than you should make a custom rendering preset, one with higher bitrate and 60fps. WMM is honestly not terrible.. but dA Vinci Resolve (started using it two weeks ago) is just miles better. Would highly recommend it.

HitFilm Pro 4 (the free version)

It's like Premiere Pro but lacks some good features of Adobe's. I used it for a while then got Premiere Pro.

CPU: Intel Core i7 8700

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070

MOBO: ASUS Z370-F STRIX

Can't speak for the other poster but I only once got DVR to even start on my machine. It then bluescreened and wouldn't run again.

Went and bought sony vegas instead.

EDIT: Or whatever it's called now. not sony

That's... odd. Never had any such problems.
