Separation of Pump and Res?

So, I accidentally bought a pump/res combo. The thing wouldn't fit inside of my case. Whoops. I already bought the required pump top, but what is needed in order to make the res work?

I have just ordered some parts to get around the exact same issue. (EK D5 XRES 140)

 

I got a plexi pump top and new res.

 

I could have bought a spare bottom piece for an EK X3 res, but a new one (not EK) was half the price (it was getting sold off)

Sync RGB fans with motherboard RGB header.

 

Main rig:

Ryzen 7 1700x (4.05GHz)

EVGA GTX 1070 FTW ACX 3.0

16GB G. Skill Flare X 3466MHz CL14

Crosshair VI Hero

EK Supremacy Evo

EVGA SuperNova 850 G2

Intel 540s 240GB, Intel 520 240GB + WD Black 500GB

Can't see a black version. Also don't know if that is compatible with the glass version as I have only used the plexi. Does the glass tube have screw threads on the top and bottom?

You may be better to find something not ekwb for cheaper, as you will also require a mounting system for the res. To re-use my res tube would have cost me $38NZ for base and mounts, but buying a new reservoir which included mounting cost me $17NZ.

Yeah, fair enough. It was basically down to price and being unable to source a black base for me. I would have preferred to have an EK res.

 

The main thing would be to make sure that the X3 bases are compatible with your glass res tube. It looks like it should be compatible, but I would get Luc and Derick to confirm it for you.

I may be wrong, but the delrin the EK res parts are made of looks like the kind of material that paint would not stick to.

We don't sell the black bottom part directly but if you open a support ticket on our website, I think the guys will be able to sell you one in a custom order.
