help with HHDs and Xbox1?

HI Linus awesome info you give us nerds. My ? is how do I connect 2 ext. HHDs and use them in my X Box ONE like they show and say on their videos. or am I understanding it wrong.

There is 2 USB ports on the back of the box. You should be able to connect them there.

IIRC, you have to dig into the menus and tell it to format drive for use on Xbox One to install software, so don't expect you have use the external drive for other purposes at the same time. I have an external drive connected to my Xbox One S for additional game installs. The stock drive filled up quick even with just the free games my console came with.

 

You might be able to play media off a normal FAT or maybe exFAT or NTFS drive; just not install stuff. Or I could be confusing with PS4. I'm not sure, as I don't use my drive that way.
