What is your current mid-tower case, and choice of GTX 1080? A lot of newer mid towers can fit full sized GPU's like the ASUS Strix versions. Perhaps we could offer some helpful suggestions (Also, budget?)

Of those, the 750 D (which is old) and the pure base 600 would be my choice. The Core X9 is HUGE and meant for more extreme watercooling hardware

I own a thermaltake v3 mid-case. I'm not sure if can fit a gtx 1080. On thermaltake's website it says that v3 can support GPU no longer than 263mm and the most versions of gtx1080 are around 280mm. I want to buy the MSI Gaming X 1080 which is 279mm. If gtx fit in my case I wouldn't upgrade to a full-tower. Otherwise I would be able to spend around 100-150 for a beautiful case with good air-flow and I would prefer one with a side-window.

A lot of newer mid tower cases  can fit upwards of 300mm GPU'd with no problem! A good example of this is the Fractal Design Define C TG (There's another higher airflow version called Meshify C, for it's "mesh" front panel) both are under $100 USD

Phanteks also makes the Enthoo Pro M TG, which is a gorgeous case IMO and still has great airflow.

Thanks for your suggestions @TVwazhere Never heard of Fractal Design brand before, is it a good-quality prodoct when it comes to the chassis of the case? I can find Fractal Design Define C Window in my country for 100 euro and it looks great. Can you check the link to confirm that this is the correct case? https://www.skroutz.gr/s/10341628/Fractal-Design-Define-C-Window.html?from=drop#sku-info

Phanteks is also one of my options that I forgot to mention. I have read gread reviews for Phanteks Pro but I was looking fot it's full-tower version as well. Will Phanteks mid-case fit gtx as well as Fractal Design?

Yep, thats the case! Fractal Design is known for their Swedish minimalist design, high quality and fantastic support for water cooling. Many of their older cases are relevant and bough for their quality and performance. The Max GPU length on this case is 315mm including a front mounted case fan (I found some photos of this case with the MSI GTX 1080 https://pcpartpicker.com/b/4TnH99)

202651.e335a0e838ab5ffd6f337a41924e38e7.1600.jpg

The Phantels Enthoo Pro M (the M is for the mid tower version) will also fit the GPU! It can fit an incredible 420mm GPU (if you can even find one that long!) without any optional HDD cages, and even up to 300mm with the optional HDD bays installed (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/6D4qqs)

It should be noted that both of these cases have "TG" options, which means they replace the acrylic window for tempered glass, which sounds bad but TG is actually very shatter resistant and VERY scratch resistant (acrylic windows can scratch in a light breeze) but they are usually $5-10 more depending on the country

Thanks for the info @TVwazhere ! Both cases look great and the most important is that they both fit a gtx1080, I didn't know that about mid-cases. The price is the same for both cases as well so which would you choose having in mind the chassis quality, air-flow and noise?

Both are equal in terms of quality and airflow, but the Define C will be quieter, as it has sound dampening foam in it :)

Armor is MSI version of Budget 1080 ti or any msi gpu..gaming X is their Flagship.

If u have the bugdet and want a binned gpu for more performance u might want to buy the evga FTW3 or kingpin edition but they are not worth the price for the performance imo.

Asus strix is pretty good as well.

Zotac amp edition is also good.

The choice is yours but dont get the Armor from msi.

P400S is the best of em all but its a mid tower case and there's also the TG version of it.

My suggestion for ur full tower case would be phanteks enthoo evolv TG they are gorgeous af imo.

I was looking for a full-tower cause I thought that a gtx1080 don't fit in a mid-case but if it's possible there is no need to go for a full-tower. That's why we ended up talking for mid-towers that can fit a 300mm GPU. What's your suggestion for a mid-tower that's able to fit a gtx1080 ?

@L.Lawliet Gigabyte and Zotac are the cheapest gtx1080 I can find but especially for Zotac I know nothing about this brand. Do you still aprove for MSI Gaming X though? And how many differences there are between the MSI Gaming X and the Zotac amp edition for example ?

I agree that phanteks is way more beautiful. The only thing I liked on Define C is the dampening foam which should make Define C quiter. But if P400 is good in terms of noise as well, then it's not a big deal.

@TVwazhere Do you maybe have any suggestion for a gtx1080? Which brand to choose? I was thinking about the MSI GTX1080 Gaming X or the MSI Armor OC. Is there a big difference between those two? Gaming X is 40 euro more expensive.

Gaming X is better than the Armor OC, by far, especially when you start getting into the higher powered chips. the 40 euro more is worth it for the extra cooling and noise performance you get.

Also @TVwazhere what's your opinion for Corsair Carbide Clear 400c, Corsair Obsidian 450D, Corsair Crystal 460X Compact and Phanteks P400S in comparison with the Define C ? I'm just asking because I like the design more.

The 460x is the TG version of the 400C, the 450D is fairly old, and the P400S (and also NZXT s340) are great mid towers for mid range builds (by that I mean hardware that doesnt generate too much heat) Both of these cases suffer from sub par airflow, so CPU's with AIO's and high end GPU's tend to get very hot. For a 1080, you'll want more airflow than either of those could provide, so my vote would be for the Define C :)

@TVwazhere Do you have any suggestion maybe for another good TG mid-case in terms of noise and air-flow and of course compatible with GTX1080 that might be more beautiful than Define C? I would be ok even if it costs a little more around 150euro for example. I'm searching for a more beautiful version of Define C :D

Well Unless you can find the TG version...

There's also the be quiet! pure Base 600 which depending on your idea of beautiful, is also really nice internally.

Are you talking about this one on the following link? https://www.skroutz.gr/s/11528850/Be-Quiet-Pure-Base-600-Window-Black.html

That's way more beautiful from Define C in my opinion. Is it similar with Define C in terms of quality? Chassis, noise, air-flow etc...

Thats the one! I wouldnt say it's as much quality as the Define C IMO, (The Dark base Pro 900 version, which is well over 200 euro is much more quality; it was 2016's PC case of the year) but it's still very good, is as quiet and has good airflow. A very solid recommendation as well. Plus you managed to find the TG version :)

It doesn't mention any TG tag on the title or description of the product, it says "window" instead. Is it the same with what we are calling TG?

be quiet! as a company doesnt designate their cases with the "TG" ending as many cases do. The "Pure Base" prefix is what tells me it has TG (I just study these things because I'm a huge case nerd) the Acrylic windowed version is the older "Silent Base 600" (which has some other minor differences like more 5.25" bays and different HDD bays)

Oh thank you, that's good to know. So to sum it up, if I'm right your suggestion is something like Define C > Silent Base 600 > Phantels Enthoo Pro M ? And all of them will fit gtx1080 right?

IMO, it would be Define C > Pure Base 600 = Enthoo Pro M, with Define C having the best quality and silence, Pure Base 600 has the really beautiful TG, and Enthoo Pro m has the best airflow. In the end, all three will fit your GPU, and any of the cases would have sufficient airflow for it. :)
