You might want a WD Black main drive and RAID 0 barracudas or reds for recording.

SSD for OS

Barracuda for Games

Blue/Green for Recording

If you don't want to go for SSD in ANY way, go for Hybrid if you like.

An OS drive should only contain the OS and programs. It shouldn't get filled up that easily. A 256GB SSD should be plenty and are fairly cheap nowadays. Mine's set up like this:

128GB SSD (OS and programs)

256GB SSD (frequently played games)

2 x 2TB Hitachi HDDs in RAID-0 (all my files and rest of the games)

God damn it Bobby get a 120 GB SSD for the main OS. It won't fullup if you install the rest the actual programs on the hard drives.

Then get 3 * 2TB WD black drives and set them up in raid 5.
Even better, get 4 * 2TB WD black drives and set them up in raid 10. Don't know what raid 5/10 is? Linus explains it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuwjadbtUCY

For os/programs, get a nice 120GB ssd. It shouldn't fill up too easily. If it is, you're doing it wrong. Programs and Windows don't take up that much space.

For everything else, get seagate barracudas or blues depending on whichever is cheaper and how much space you need.
