My CPU is ryzen 1600, I haven't overclocked it and it has been running for maybe one month, I have just noticed that 2nd cable wasn't inserted all the way in (4+4 connector, one half was fully inserted and the other one wasn't), since this is a 65w cpu and it can work with just a 4 pin connector, was there any damage done to it or the motherboard?Another question, how do you unplug 4+4 connectors?Do you press the part on top and then pull them (connectors) up?

if it ran stable it had enough power from the board wtihout the power connector :P

u shouldnt need to worry the last thing that can happen is a shutdown due to not enough power received on the cpu ( too little power doesnt really harm, can cause a shutdown at most or unstability )

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

there will not have been any damage done by that, at all. to remove them its just like a 24 pin, press the top of the retention clip and pull like a muthafuka and it will pop out and your hand will hit your CPU cooler, case and something else and get cut up like always lol

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

So it needs relatively too much force to unplug?I've tried to unplug them gently but it simply won't move.

yah, new ones can be really hard, but make sure the clip is properly pressed so the bottom clears the clip part of the connector so you dont pull that out too lol

there is not much force involved, u just need to squeeze the clip that is clipped onto the little holder @ the 4pin/8pin connectors, wiggle it a lil while holding the clip squeezed and it should come loose pretty easy ( without wiggling it might take some force tho lol )
