Wouldn't mind somebody being in charge of daily games, so that many people can join in on one game at once, therefore there wouldn't be empty servers on different games of lower popularity.

Great idea but server hosting is not cheap' date=' it's also difficult to cater for the whole world because Linus does have a wide range of an audience so servers might only be Canada or US.[/quote']

Agreed, I live in Australia and I would have some bad latency. It would be great though.

It would be nice to have some servers, like a MC server or something, but hosting servers aren't cheap, and I don't believe they have the budget for that.

If everyone however decides to donate into a server maintenance funds, then that might work.

There are number of problems with this idea. First like many said, renting servers isn't cheap. Best way might be finding some member who has home server capable running dedicated game servers. We would be able to arrange paypal support for running costs. Second problem is range of games. Nowdays many companies limit server files to trusted partners so if we would be using home server, it will limit games. Even bigger problem is range of audience. Exspecially in FPS games latency will be problem. EU players prefer EU servers for reason. Over 80 ping for serious gamer is really an issue. I'd say we gather information of good servers which people already go to. They might be moderated by someone of this community. We can make groups in diffirent services to keep track where people are gaming. Steam, Battlelog...?

FYI there are members of this forum who have server space, who are willing to just give it away. (ie, myself)

Do you ppl read post to end? I stated that there must be members who have servers and are willing to run games on them. I'm not against idea, just pointing out problems.

I was going to suggest this yesterday, but was reserved about asking. I've got plenty of server space to host server so just tell me what game and we can get one rolling.
We already have a few up, however no one seems to kn ow about them or play on them! :(
