Main Page Status Update Text Box Broken

The text box on the homepage for typing a status update is broken. it refuses to open for me.

tried on both MS Edge and Chrome, neither worked.

 

I'm talking about this box

It loads for a few seconds (it did that before too), but yes, it works.
