i7 7700k without Overclocking

hello, i hav a doubt..actually i am getting an i7 7700k for very cheap. i already hav a gigabyte b250m motherboard. i dont want to overclock the 7700k. so will there be any problem if i put an 7700k in a b250 motherboard with stock heatsink? (NOTE - I DONT WANT TO OVERCLOCK IT)

Rofl it won't throttle, but yeah they don't make good heat sinks. You will be fine Reeve!

well why not? If you get it for *this* cheap then it's okay. If you want to OC later on just get a new board.

It will hot AF, i would say 70-80°C

iirc 85deg isnt at all hot...... up near 100 is hot

Well 7700K is hot, it has higher clocks than 7700 and has higher rated TDP. And thermal mayo as well.

So much BS in this thread, you can use the i7 7700k on a b250 with stock cooler just fine, it will run a bit hot but since you won't overclock it will stay under the mid 70's for sure which is all that matters.

 

If you find it for a good pricing go for it! you get a nice bump in frequencies from the locked i7 7700 and it'll be an awesome performing beast.

Like a lot of CPU's do.... I am teasing because I agree the temps will most likely be hot, and higher then I would want them personally. But I am sure they will still be within safe operating temps.

I wasn't trying to attack any one, It just annoyed me some how people were trying to dismiss the purchase when in reality there's not much wrong with it... as you stated later as long as it doesn't throttle it doesn't really matter we all replace our CPUs within 10 years either ways so even if runs hot it should live all its useful life.

You'll be fine, but personally I'd just get a better cooler for $20-30 (like a 212 evo or something) since the cost is small and the difference is huge.

Jump on the processor and get a aftermarket cooler. If you're not overclocking that just means its more important to buy the powerful processor from the start.
