Is this a good build for a new streamer?

Analogue

I want to start streaming on twitch but my current PC can't handle it, would this be a good build for it?

Core i7 7700K Kaby Lake quad core - $339.99
EVGA GeForce Gtx 1070 - $451.79
Gigabyte G1 gaming GA-Z170X - $119.00
RAIDMAX ALPHA Prime ALPHA-TTB ATX - $89.99
DEEPCOOL Gamer Storm CAPTIAN 240EX CPU liquid cooler - $99.99

I added up the parts and price isn't an issue, but I am willing to spend a bit more if I need to. I'm not super knowledgeable when it comes to computers but I know a good bit, just looking for some pointers and advice. I want to avoid bottlenecking as well.

that is enough, though for a streamer i would swap the 7700k for 1700x or 1800x if you can, that will provide you with much better streaming/editing.

Dont forget SSD and at least 16gb of ram.

Well, it's not bad. But if you're planning on streaming/recording/rendering I recommend Ryzen 7 1700 over the 7700k.

More cores will deffo help with that! :)

And welcome to the forums!

Are you planning to game and stream? A ryzen r7 cpu would be far better suited for that, the 1700 is the same as a 1800x you just have to do the overclocking manually. If you're just planning to do talk show type stuff then yeah it'd be fine, just make sure you can update the bios on that z170 board or it may not work with the 7700k

Like the others said, get a ryzen. Especially when gaming and streaming at 1080p the 7700k will be highly taxed with the game alone while the 8 more threads on the ryzen can handle the streaming side of things.

You are missing storage and a PSU. Do you already have these parts? What is your budget for the full build? I would recommend a Ryzen 1700 as it has double the cores and threads and almost the same IPC as the 7700K for a slightly lower price.

You're missing several components. You'll need RAM, PSU, and storage.

What are you streaming? If you're streaming PC games, get an R7 1700. If you're doing console streaming or like podcast type stuff, Ryzen 3 1200 or Ryzen 5 1400 is plenty. Get a better case and a different CPU cooler.

Your bio says to ask you about PSU's. As several people noted I forgot some stuff on my list, a PSU being one of those things.

I honestly forgot about storage, what do you recommend?

Depends what streaming you're doing, and what else you'll use the system for.

So what exactly will you be doing with the system?

What is your budget and currency?

What monitor(s) will you be using?

I plan to stream PC games, budget isn't really an issue as I'll be buying over a few months and USD, and I haven't decided on monitors yet either.

Okay, well don't do that. Budget is an issue. I don't know how much you make and it's not my place to recommend a $3k system if even a $1000 system is pretty expensive for you. You need to at least give us an idea of how much you're comfortable spending. So, save your money and choose a budget you're comfortable with. Once you have the money, ask for help with a build and buy everything at the same time(within a week, or 2 at most).
