hi, im a young student from Belgium, i gathered some cash and i've done alot of research on how to build a pc, now my question is, are these parts compatible, and if they are, do they perform well together or is there any bottleneck.

This is the pcparpicker link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WYfkYr

Here are the parts indivdually:

CPU: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/693567/intel-core-i7-7700k-boxed.html

GPU: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/545523/msi-geforce-gtx-1080-gaming-x-8g.html

MOTHERBOARD; https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/701537/asus-prime-z270-a/specificaties/

RAM: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/458093/g-punt-skill-ripjaws-v-f4-2400c15d-16gvr.html

CPU COOLER: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/294328/cooler-master-hyper-212-evo.html

CASE: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/714221/phanteks-enthoo-pro-m-tempered-glass.html

POWER SUPPLY: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/463794/corsair-rm850x-zwart.html

OPTICAL DRIVE; https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/587505/asus-drw-24d5mt-(bulk)-zwart.html

WIFI CARD; https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/482042/asus-pce-ac88.html  (yes i know, but i really cant connect ethernet from my room)

SSD1: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/422397/samsung-850-evo-1tb.html

SSD2; https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/422395/samsung-850-evo-250gb.html  (for window, but is 250 too much? or is it enough)

HDD: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/556435/toshiba-x300-(bulk)-5tb.html

OS: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/453551/microsoft-windows-10-home-nl-64bit-oem.html (altho i will be buying this from microsoft original site, might be safe to get somewhere else for cheap, but i dont trust that, just goin safe :)

Are there any extra tips i should use when building this, also how does grounding work, some people say you should plug your power supply and turn it off, some say dont plug it in, some tell me to wear gloves, whats the easiest and most secure method of grounding?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

edit: anyone seen physical hardware stores around area of flanders? cant seem to find any :c  (sorry for my english but i think u get what i mean :D)

-do you need that good a wifi card? :P

-you should probably get a smaller SSD and upgrade to a 1080 ti

-Are you in a rush? If not, I suggest you wait a month for Coffee Lake which is gonna give you 6 cores instead of the 4 right now.

250 is wayyyy more than enough for an os. Os only takes up probably 20-30gb max.

There are cheaper wifi cards out there that'll work just fine, I believe gigabyte has one that supports ac wifi that's usually less than half of this. Yes it's a 2x2 vs. a 4x4 but is your wifi fast enough to handle it anyways?

By building around July/August do you mean July/August of next year?

I would suggest upgrading the CPU cooler. Yes the 212 evo is good for what it is, but there are some slightly better air coolers (and much better liquid coolers)

I have the PC-68 version of that card. The only reason I have it is because I have the router (RT-AC68) that pairs with it perfectly. Otherwise it's a bit of a waste

On the cheap build you can use the stock cooler no problem

This is a significantly different category of PC than the first build. How long do you plan on keeping this PC?

No, kinda the opposite, depending on what settings and resolution you choose, (for example, 1080p 60fps for overwatch) this PC will do good for more than a year. That is, until games become more CPU intensive in which case an upgrade would be advised. No telling when that will be though.

Then again, if your plan is to build it, use it and then sell it or give it to a sibling or something, I might consider using the new AMD ryzen platform so that they have options for expansion without having to buy a new cpu AND mobo (possibly ram) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Htw8Gf

yes, just overwatch,destiny2 and some previous call of duties, csgo and league, also i dont really care about the looks, i just need 60fps on 720 low, which yes i am getting on most of the games, but for example in overwatch, the fps drops down to 50 or even below which makes playing hitscan heroes very hard. and by the time i will need an upgrade, i probably already have got the first mentioned build, also yes i will probably giving this to my little brother once i get that other build, but i mean, im barely know ryzen amd stuff, so il just stick with intel and nvidia, they wont upgrade since they usually browse on the web and play games like minecraft. also, how do i actually ground myself when building a pc, some say i have to plug in the psu but turn it off, some say dont plug it in at all, some tell me to wear gloves, kinda confused how this works now.

Well if they wont upgrade, the first build will be fine.

As for how-to-build, there are LOTS of really good video tutorials. I'll link some of my personal favorites

This one is probably closest to what your PC will be like

Slightly more detailed but mid range build

And from our lord and savior LTT

PCpartpicker does a good job with compatibility, so if it says it's all good, it's probably true (also I looked at it and everything seems to fit well)

There's not a whole lot that can "go wrong" unles you accidentally buy DDR3 ram instead of DDR4. PcPartPicker is great with this becasue when you chose your CPU, it only lets you select compatible mobo's and Ram which makes it a lot easier, down to things you might not have thought of like 6 or 8 pin PCI-E PSU connectors or CPU cooler height fitting in the case

i've looked into the 6/8 pin connectors (from psu to gpu am i right?) also cooler height, stock cooler looks very small, so i will probably fitt i guess.

Both of those, PCpartpicker already verifies automatically so you dont have to worry about them! Things like that is why we always recommend using the site, even for veterans

Scrap the 212 evo and just use stock cooler, get a different SSD (or just get a 250gb ssd since they're the same price as that one), and PSU wattage is way overkill.

Scrap the 212 evo and just use stock cooler, get a different SSD (or just get a 250gb ssd since they're the same price as that one), and PSU wattage is way overkill.

well, wattage might be overkill, but can it damage  the rest? because idm giving 40bucks for a psu thats overkill.

this is what i've changed so far from the previous cheap build list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QqZKwV

(dont know if i've changed anything, think changed ram and motherboard)

No it can't damage anything but it's just a bit of a waste of money.

I suggest you save $30 by getting an sl308 for ssd instead or just pay $10 more for the 250gb 850 evo

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.
