og_catnip

Hey I'm very new to PCs and this may be a dumb question but do you need a CPU cooler if you're not going to overclock?

most CPU comes with a cooler so I guess that you mean if you need a custom cooler? (which depends on what you wanna do and which CPU you have)

ask me about your system builds, AIO's, CPU's, PSU's, and GPU's.

you'll still need a cooler, though the stock cooler will do just fine.

The 7700 comes with a stock cooler, and the 7700K does not. You sure can use the stock cooler, but I'm not sure if it will thermal throttle, so you might do well to spend ~30 dollars on a nice air cooler like the hyper 212 Evo.

Edit: You can't run the CPU without a cooler, or else it will overheat as soon as the computer is turned on, and it might be ded.
