Need help for picking CPU.

Hello there

 

So after almost 3 years my FX8350 OCd to 5.0GHz began dieing and I came here for help. I'm looking for a good mid-range CPU to pair gtx 1060

 

My requirements - DDR3 support(if possible), budget for cpu+new mobo = 400 euros.

You could try to get the ryzen 5 1600 and Asus prime b350 plus. Though the new b350 boards won't support ddr3, you should switch to ddr4!

a used i7 4770/4790 (your choice on K/nonK) would do well

ryzen 1400( or 1600)+ B350m mobo+ 8 or 16 GB ddr4 ram, sell your old stuff for more money.

I would try to go for a 4770 or 4790 non-K since Z-chipsets are incredibly expensive on Ebay and other sites.

Xeon E3 1231v3 and an H81 or B85 motherboard. Then treat your lady friend to a nice dinner, a movie with what you saved.

Yes, but you can't overclock it. Unless you already have a Z97 around, there's no reason to buy one over a cheaper H81, B85 or H97 option for a Xeon.

Ok  then I thin I will go with Xeon e3 1231v3 and Asus B85M-G board.
